Abortion versus Elective Induction

Growing up I initially held my abortion stance as pro-life for myself; pro-choice for everyone else. As I matured my position did too. Today I am 100% pro-life from conception until natural death. Isn’t it interesting how we have to define death even?

Today in a Facebook group I am part of that discusses hot topics, a woman posted that she is absolutely apposed to elective induction, meaning, inducing labor and childbirth prior to 39 or 40 weeks gestation rather than allowing nature to take its course. This immediately struck me.

Many times we’ve had discussions on abortion and I am always in the minority of pro-life folks. Knowing this, I commented stating that I didn’t understand how or why a person who favors abortion would care if a mother elected to be induced for convenience sake. Why care? If you don’t care about the health and safety of the baby at 6 weeks, 10 weeks, 14, 24, etc., why suddenly show some concern. If you don’t care about a baby being torn apart, limb by limb, in his or her mothers womb, why suddenly care when the baby has reached the gestational age when he or she can be safely delivered, alive?
